31 Stunning Prague Instagram Spots for Amazing Photos in 2025

I’ll never forget the first time I visited Prague in March 2017. Wandering through the cobblestone streets of Old Town, soaking in the views from the Charles Bridge, and seeking out the best Prague Instagram spots—I was instantly hooked on this charming city.

I knew even then that one visit wouldn’t be enough. Fast forward a few years and five trips later, and I still can’t get enough of Prague.

Whether you travel with friends, your significant other, or if you’re a solo traveler like me—you’ll love this guide to the best photo spots in Prague. It’s packed with the city’s most photogenic places, plus tips for getting amazing content without relying on a stranger to take your photos.

After 33 countries, I’ve learned a lot about snapping great shots solo—because let’s face it, no one wants to risk trusting their tech to someone only to get blurry, mediocre photos in return. These Prague photo spots are perfect for capturing the magic of the city, even if you’re the one both behind and in front of the lens!

The Best Prague Instagram Spots

Prague is overflowing with photogenic spots that are guaranteed to make your Instagram feed pop. From historic landmarks to charming hidden corners, the city has something for every type of traveler and photographer.

Ready to dive in? Let’s go to Prague.

1. The Lennon Wall

The Lennon Wall is easily one of the best Prague Instagram spots, thanks to its vibrant, ever-changing graffiti and inspirational quotes. I’ve been drawn back to the Lennon Wall on every single trip to Prague—it’s just that charming.

But being one of the most well-known spots in the city also means it’s usually packed with tourists—especially during the summer months. While most people are understanding of others trying to snap photos, the best time to get that perfect shot without the crowds is early in the morning.

And yes, you can legally write or draw on the wall! It’s a great way to leave your mark on one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.

Be very aware of your surroundings when setting up a camera at the Lennon Wall or any of the other top tourist sites. Although Prague is a very safe city, it does have its share of pickpockets. Nothing ruins a trip to Prague like some stranger running off with your camera!

2. The John Lennon Pub

On our first trip to Prague, we stumbled upon the John Lennon Pub after leaving our mark on the wall. As you can see from the photo below, it’s clearly another of the most Instagrammable places in Prague.

Its adorable facade features a painted portrait of John Lennon surrounded by a handwritten menu and a yellow submarine, making it the perfect backdrop for a quick photo. If you’re in the area, it’s worth stopping in for a drink to enjoy the laid-back vibe of this quirky little spot.

3. The Lock Bridge at the Mill

Tucked away near the Lennon Wall, the Lock Bridge at the Grand Priory Mill is another of this city’s most charming Instagram spots.

Covered in colorful love locks, this quaint little bridge offers a picturesque view of the mill wheel turning in the river below. If you look closely at the photo on the right, you night see a little creature sitting at the far end of the dock. This is a water demon, or vodník—which appear in all manors of myths from Germany to the Balkans.

Even though it’s just steps away from the Lennon Wall, this spot still tends to be pretty serene. You shouldn’t have trouble capturing beautiful photos here!

4. The Charles Bridge

The Charles Bridge is one of the most iconic Prague Instagram spots for obvious reasons. Stretching across the Vltava River, it offers stunning views of Prague Castle in the background, especially when the sun rises and casts a golden glow over the city.

However, it’s worth keeping a close eye on your belongings here—pickpockets are known to frequent the area, especially during the day. If you’re taking photos as a solo traveler, I would recommend heading over for sunrise when there are fewer people around.

I actually dragged my ass out of bed one morning to fly my drone here at sunrise. Unfortunately, my drone was pretty low-quality back then (not the cherished DJI Mini 3 Pro that I fly now), so the photos didn’t really turn out.

5. The Old Town Bridge Tower

Standing proudly at the Old Town end of the Charles Bridge, the Old Town Bridge Tower is not only a beautiful landmark but is also one of the best Instagram spots in Prague.

Its intricate Gothic design makes for a stunning backdrop, especially if you’re posing with a mac n’ cheese trdelník from Good Food—one of my favorite spots for cheap eats in Prague.

6. Black Angels Rooftop Bar at Hotel U Prince

If you’re visiting Prague for the first time, Black Angels Rooftop Bar at the U Prince Hotel is my absolute #1 recommendation. This chic rooftop spot serves not only amazing drinks but also unbeatable views of Týn Church, Old Town Square, and the Astronomical Clock Tower—all in one place.

The combination of expertly crafted cocktails and the iconic skyline makes it the perfect setting for both relaxing and snapping some of the best photos of your trip.

Although you need to be prepared to wait for that iconic corner spot, it’s still a can’t-miss gem of the Czech Republic…especially when you add in a piping hot mug of mulled wine.

7. Old Town Square

Old Town Square is one of the most picturesque spots in Prague, with its iconic Gothic spires of Týn Church towering over the colorful, historic buildings. The vibrant atmosphere here is a photographer’s dream, especially during golden hour—which you all know is my favorite time of day.

You’ll also find plenty of food vendors in this area offering local specialties like trdelník, hot honey wine, and halušky. Whether you’re snapping photos, indulging in Czech treats, or just trying to pet the horses (like me), Old Town Square is a must-visit for any trip to the Czech Republic.

The Church of Our Lady before Tyn is a must-see on your 4 days in Prague itinerary.

8. The Astronomical Clock Tower

The Astronomical Clock Tower, located on the outside of Old Town Hall, is fondly known as one of the most overrated tourist attractions in Europe.

The clock chimes every hour from 9:00 AM–11:00 PM, drawing large crowds excited to watch its mechanical figures come to life—a spectacle that’s underwhelming, but at the same time a bit entertaining.

That said, it still makes for a fantastic Instagram shot. Its intricate design and centuries-old craftsmanship are undeniably photogenic, and it’s a must-see if you’re exploring Old Town Square!

The astronomical clock on the Old Town Hall. Stop by for the hourly show to enjoy one of the best Prague Instagram spots.

9. Old Town Hall

After watching the Astronomical Clock’s hourly show, consider heading inside Old Town Hall for some of the best views in Prague. I climbed the Town Hall Tower for the first time on my fourth visit in 2019, and let me tell you—I never should have waited so long.

The tower stands 70 meters high…so there are some steps involved, but with views like that 👇🏼 I’d say they’re 100% worth it. Just steer clear if you’re claustrophobic!

Entrance tickets only cost 250 CZK (around 10 USD), so there’s no excuse not to add this viewpoint to your most Instagrammed places in Prague bucket list.

10. Perníkovy Panácek

Perníkový Panáček is a charming little pink shop that specializes in gingerbread and other homemade desserts. While the cookies are a bit overpriced and not exactly the best I’ve ever had, the shop’s exterior is an Instagrammer’s dream.

Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a pink wall?

Whether you’re stopping by to try a sweet treat or just snapping a photo in front of the smiling gingerbread man outside, this spot is definitely worth a quick visit.

11. Prague Castle Complex

At a massive 70,000 square meters, Prague Castle is the largest castle complex in the world and is absolutely packed with Instagram-worthy spots.

The best part? It’s free to enter the grounds and wander through the courtyards and cobblestone pathways. However, if you want to explore inside the buildings, like the stunning St. Vitus Cathedral, you’ll need to purchase a ticket.

Even if you don’t feel like forking over the cash, just wandering around the complex will uncover no shortage of photo opportunities.

12. St. Vitus Cathedral

St. Vitus Cathedral is the crown jewel of the Castle Complex and one of the most photogenic spots in the city. The intricate details on its massive front door make for a stunning close-up shot, and if you’re up for a climb, the Great South Tower offers some of the best panoramic views in town.

Can you tell I’m a viewpoint connoisseur? 😉

From the top, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the city’s red rooftops and the sprawling castle grounds below. It’s well worth the ticket and the steps to the top to enjoy one of the best photography spots in Prague.

13. Golden Lane

Tucked away within the Castle Complex, Golden Lane is undoubtedly one of the most famous streets in Prague.

This narrow, colorful lane is lined with tiny historic houses that once belonged to castle guards and craftsmen. The vibrant facades and charming details make it one of the cutest Prague Instagram spots, not to mention an easy one to access—since you’ll likely already be visiting the castle on your trip.

While the lane can get crowded during the day, visiting early in the morning will give you the best chance to capture it without the crowds.

14. The Starbucks Viewpoint

I’ll never normally recommend you visit a Starbucks in Europe (except maybe the Starbucks Reserve Roastery on a quick trip to Milan), but this is the exception.

We stumbled upon the Starbucks Viewpoint during my first trip in 2017. Back then, the crowd was pretty manageable, but it’s become much more popular in recent years. That said, its popularity doesn’t take away from how fantastic it is!

Grab a warm drink on a chilly day (or an iced one if it’s hot) and head out to the balcony for one of the best views in all of Prague. From this vantage point, you’ll get a stunning perspective of the city’s rooftops and landmarks—hopefully without too many crowds.

For the best experience, visit early in the morning when it’s quieter and the light is perfect for photos.

15. Malá Strana

Malá Strana, or the “Lesser Town,” is one of the most enchanting neighborhoods in the city and an absolute treasure trove of Instagram-worthy spots.

I remember my first time crossing the Charles Bridge into Malá Strana and immediately falling in love with the picturesque streets, colorful Baroque buildings, and cozy cafes.

Be sure to explore the winding alleys, snap photos of the charming facades, and soak in the serene atmosphere of this quieter side of the city. No matter where you wander, Malá Strana never fails to deliver unforgettable photos.

16. The Dancing House

The Dancing House was one of the first stops on my very first trip to Prague. My friend and I stopped by for a drink on the rooftop deck before embarking on the best pub crawl in Prague.

We paid $3 for a glass of wine and entry to the Glass Bar—a gorgeous rooftop bar with views of the Vltava River and Prague Castle in the distance. Prices may have increased a bit from then, but if you buy a drink entrance to the rooftop is free.

Nicknamed “Fred and Ginger,” the Dancing House was designed in the mid-1990s by Croatian-Czech architect Vlado Milunić and Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry. Its unique, curvy design represents a pair of dancers in motion, making it one of the city’s most famous landmarks—and one of its best Instagram spots.

🚩 This is a great photo spot for solo travelers who are using tripods! Someone would have to be pretty fast to snatch your camera off the tripod and get down the elevator without you noticing 😂.

17. Petrín Park

Petřín Park is one of the city’s most peaceful green spaces, offering a mix of lush gardens, winding paths, and stunning views of the city. It’s the perfect spot to escape the crowds and capture some dreamy, nature-inspired photos during your trip.

At the heart of the park is the Petřín Lookout Tower, often called Prague’s mini Eiffel Tower for the resemblance it bears to Paris‘ world-famous monument.

Standing 208 feet tall, the tower offers panoramic views of the city and beyond. Climbing the 299 steps to the top is a bit of a workout, but the breathtaking scenery makes it all worth it. For a truly magical experience, visit during golden hour!

18. Swans by the Vltava River

If you want a dreamy and somewhat unexpected Prague Instagram spot, head to Park Cihelná to photograph the hundreds of swans that congregate here daily. There are so many swans along the banks of the Vltava River that it’s become an iconic shot to capture in Prague.

It’s not a bad idea to pack a little bread to entice the swans closer, just don’t get too close—remember, they are wild animals.

And beware of bird poop!

A spot along the Vltava River with hundreds of swans can be found daily.

19. Head of Franz Kafka

The Head of Franz Kafka is one of the city’s most fascinating modern art installations that definitely makes the list of the top photography locations in Prague. This massive, rotating sculpture is made up of 42 moving layers that align to form the face of one of the Czech Republic’s most famous writers.

Prague has a few interestingly bizarre art installations—mostly courtesy of the Czech sculptor David Černý. The Head of Franz Kafka is one of the most well-known, but the list also includes the Crawling Babies, Brown-Nosers, and the Urinating Sculptures.

Admiring his work is a great way to spend a quirky afternoon in Prague!

20. Cafe Chloe

Café Chloe is a pink lover’s dream and undoubtedly one of Prague’s most Instagrammable cafes.

From the moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by pink tiles, neon signs, pink trees, and an entire wall of pink peonies. The attention to detail is next-level, making every corner of this cafe a photo opportunity.

Even the food and drinks are pink-themed, with lattes topped with pink foam pink-frosted cakes! Honestly, I would go back here just for the food and coffee—everything was delicious.

🚩 This is another great photo spot if you’re using a tripod since the risk of pickpockets is low inside businesses.

21. The Letensky Profil Lookout

The Letenský Profil Lookout is renowned for offering panoramic views of three of Prague’s iconic bridges: The Charles Bridge, The Czech Bridge (Čechův Most), and The Mánes Bridge (Mánesův Most).

Although I haven’t experienced this viewpoint myself, it’s at the top of my list for my next trip! The prospect of capturing all three bridges in a single frame, with the city’s picturesque skyline as a backdrop, is irresistible to any shutterbug.

For the best experience, consider visiting for sunrise to enjoy the perfect lighting without the crowds.

22. On a Vltava River Cruise

I booked a Vltava River Cruise with Prague Boats during my third trip in 2019.

At the time, I was living in Florence (btw—Florence has some amazing Instagram spots) and working for a tour operator that wanted to scope out the activity for one of their weekend trips. The cruise provided dinner, drinks, and live music while we enjoyed the gorgeous views of the city from the water.

Although it was a bit gloomy during my visit, on a sunny day it’s hard to imagine a more beautiful photo spot in Prague—especially if you time your photos for when the boat passes in front of Prague Castle.

🚩 This is a great spot for tripod use!

23. Strahov Monastery Library

The Strahov Monastery Library has been on my Prague bucket list for years, and I’m dying to visit on my next trip.

Located about a 10-minute walk from Prague Castle, this stunning library is home to two breathtaking halls: the Theological Hall and the Philosophical Hall. Unfortunately, to preserve its priceless historical collections, visitors aren’t allowed to enter the halls—but you can still capture incredible photos from the doorways.

I’ve seen some beautiful bookstores in places like Porto and Bucharest, but my library photo cache is sadly pretty empty. With its intricate Baroque architecture and shelves of ancient books, the Strahov Library is at the top of my Prague photography spots bucket list.

24. The Municipal Library

Are you really a book-lover if you haven’t traveled to Prague and seen the Infinity Book Tower?

Well, I guess I’m not 😂 because I still haven’t seen it. (Just kidding—I LOVE to read).

The Infinity Book Tower is an art installation made of stacked books that creates the illusion of a never-ending spiral. It’s located inside the Municipal Library of Prague and is one of the most unique Instagram spots in the city for book lovers.

25. Good Food

If you love food, then you might want to focus on the most Instagrammable restaurants in Prague…of which Good Food might be at the top of the list.

This popular trdelník shop serves fun variations on the traditional chimney cake that are as photogenic as they are delicious. They dust the pastry with a variety of toppings, like raspberry powder, coconut, and pistachio, then fill it with tasty ice cream or even savory mac n’ cheese.

Holding one up with the charming streets of Old Town in the background (see below) makes for the perfect Instagram shot. Whether you’re here for the treats or the photos, Good Food is a must-visit for any foodie.

26. Wenceslas Square

Wenceslas Square is a hotspot for snapping photos that perfectly capture Prague’s mix of old and new. With colorful buildings, bustling streets, and cute cafes lining the boulevard, it’s a great place to wander around with your camera.

At the top of the square, you’ll spot the iconic statue of St. Wenceslas on horseback, with the grand National Museum as a backdrop—obviously making it one of the most Instagrammable spots in Prague.

Whether you’re in it for the history or the shot, don’t miss Wenceslas Square on your trip.

27. Jubilee/Jerusalem Synagogue

Although I’ve visited many synagogues during my travels—namely on my trip to Krakow—I haven’t had the pleasure of visiting the Jerusalem Synagogue just yet. Known for its stunning Moorish Revival architecture and vibrant colors, this synagogue is one of the most unique Prague photography locations.

The intricate facade, with its rich hues and ornate details, makes it a standout against the city’s more traditional Gothic and Baroque styles. It’s definitely on my list for my next trip! Just make sure to be extra respectful while you’re there—this is a place of worship.

28. The Many Charming Streets & Alleyways

Honestly, some of the best Prague Instagram spots are simply the city’s charming streets and alleyways—many of which you won’t find without wandering around.

Lace up some comfortable shoes, charge your camera, pack a few extra SD cards, and start exploring. You might just stumble upon a hidden corner that none of us Prague bloggers have ever heard of 😉 …but if you do, let a girl know.

A heart-shaped street sign that says "Sweet Prague" hanging from the side of a pink building.
A charming street in Mala Strana with colorful orange, yellow, and brown buildings framing the street.

29. The Narrowest Street in Prague

We just visited the narrowest street in Eastern Europe—known as Rope Street in Brasov, Romania. I don’t know what it is about those tiny little streets…but I’m already dying to visit (and photograph) another one.

I only recently learned about Prague’s narrowest street, and it’s already on my list for my next trip. This tiny passage is so narrow that there are traffic lights for pedestrians on either end!

It’s quirky, photogenic, and such a fun addition to your Prague photo itinerary.

30. The Many Gardens of Prague

Photographers love a garden.

The Boboli Gardens are one of the most photographed spots in Florence, and the Jardines Alcazares are the highlight of the Real Alcázar of Seville. Likewise, Prague’s gardens are some of the most photogenic locations in the city.

These gardens are guaranteed to add a natural touch of beauty to your photo album!

The Černínský Palace Gardens are a stunning and free-to-enter spot that any photographer would want behind their lens.

Originally designed in 1693 by architect Francesco Caratti, the gardens feature a mix of styles. The older section is geometrically landscaped with a terrace, upper pool, and a cascade fountain leading to a charming pavilion. In contrast, the newer part offers a freer composition with clusters of trees.

The Royal Garden is the most historically significant of all the Castle gardens, and it’s free to visit. Founded in 1534 by Ferdinand I of the Habsburg dynasty, the garden was originally inspired by Italian designs.

The garden’s Singing Fountain is considered one of the most beautiful fountains from the Renaissance period (not to mention it’s a beautiful photo spot).

The southern gardens are also amazing for photos—the Paradise, Ramparts, and Hartig Gardens—which stretch along the southern facade of Prague Castle and offer incredible views of Malá Strana, Old Town, and Petřín Hill!

Vrtba Garden is one of the city’s most stunning Baroque gardens, designed by František Maximilian Kaňka around 1720. Although it’s smaller than other gardens in the area, its unique architectural design on an irregular slope and its artistic decorations make it one of the most beautiful gardens in the Czech Republic.

This hidden gem is a must-visit for photographers in Prague!

Last, but certainly not least, is Waldstein Garden in Malá Strana.

This early Baroque garden, created between 1623 and 1629 alongside the construction of the Wallenstein Palace, is one of the most stunning and unique Prague Instagram spots. Highlights include the grand sala pavilion, which was groundbreaking at the time of its construction, and an artificial grotto adorned with stalactites!

If you’re a garden junkie, why not cross all four off the list?

31. On a Day Trip to Cesky Krumlov

Although it’s not exactly in Prague, there are a million fabulous viewpoints in Cesky Krumlov—and all of them translate to amazing photo spots.

If you’re willing to get out and see a little more of the Czech Republic, your camera will thank you for it! I’ve been lucky enough to visit Cesky Krumlov two times, and both times I’ve been rewarded with incredible views of this UNESCO World Heritage site—as seen below.

You can either rent a car (or take the train) and do it yourself, or book an all-inclusive day trip to Cesky Krumlov from Prague. Just don’t forget to charge up that camera and pack plenty of extra SD cards, you’re not going to be able to resist snapping a ton of photos.

Photography Gear for Beginners

I’ve spent years perfecting the art of solo photography, and most of that time, I’ve been operating on a strict budget.

I’ve learned that, thankfully, you don’t have to break the bank in order to take excellent photos. Below is my favorite affordable camera gear for beginners:

  • Canon EOS R50: This is the perfect camera for beginners! It’s very affordable and is well-known for taking amazing photos in auto mode.
  • Canon RF-S10-18mm Wide Angle Lens: This is my favorite lens for travelers looking to capture as much of the scenery as possible! Hint: it’s also great for selfies 🤪.
  • Canon RF-S18-45mm Kit Lens: A more affordable and versatile alternative for those just starting out with the Canon RF series.
  • Canon RF-S55-210mm Compression Lens: I got my first compression lens before we went to Transylvania for Dracula’s Halloween Party in 2024 and, since then, I’ve been obsessed. There’s no better way to capture beautiful landscape shots from a distance or create that beautiful bokeh.
  • JOBY Compact Action Tripod: The JOBY Compact Action Tripod is the perfect tripod for travelers on a budget. It’s extremely lightweight and versatile.
  • DJI Mini 4 Pro: Drones are a great accessory for solo travelers looking to up their photography game! The DJI Mini 4 Pro is perfect for getting into drone photography on a budget.
  • GoPro HERO13 Black: GoPros are great for capturing awesome action shots while traveling! Paired with the right grip, a GoPro is a must-have for solo travelers.
  • iPhone Tripod: If you’re not ready to splurge on a professional camera, consider purchasing an iPhone tripod! For only $20, this option from Amazon comes with a Bluetooth remote that’s perfect for solo photographers.
  • Pelican SD Card Case: Another must-have for travel photographers, this Pelican memory card case fits all your SD and micro-SD cards comfortably and securely. It also has a water-resistant seal to keep your photos extra safe inside.
  • iPhone to SD Card Reader: My friends LOVE this little device. Without it, they’d have to wait months for me to go through thousands of photos and send them via Google Drive. With this USB-C to SD card device, they can have the photos on their phone within seconds. (There’s also lightening to SD.)

Book a Prague Photo Tour

If you’d rather focus on enjoying your Prague itinerary and let someone else handle your content, consider booking a photoshoot with a professional photographer. It’s a stress-free way to get amazing shots of your trip—and it’s much more affordable than a private photographer in the U.S..

Check out this top-rated photographer on Viator where you can get a 1-hour session for two people for only $260.

Planning Your Trip to Prague

If you’re considering a trip to Prague, trust me—you won’t regret it. This city is more than an Instagram opportunity; it’s filled with fascinating history, kind-hearted locals, and beauty around each and every corner.

I would recommend spending at least four days in the city to really soak in everything the city has to offer. I promise you, no matter how much time you spend there, you’ll always be itching to go back.

Here’s how I would recommend spending those four days (from someone who’s visited five times):
